This week, we’re excited to announce the arrival of Ian Manning at Hiplok HQ as he joins the team as Head of Sales.
Ian joins us from Upgrade Bikes where as Sales Manager, he oversaw the growth of some of our favourite brands such as Lezyne and DMR. We caught up with Ian on his first day to find out a little more about the man behind the newly ironed Hiplok t-shirt!
Can you remember your first bike, what was it?
As the youngest of a family of six, I always had hand–me-downs which were well loved bikes but often covered in rust by the time I got them. My first new bike came when I was 11 years old. I saved up for it, it was a Rudi Altig Grand Prix. I loved it!
What’s your perfect Sunday ride?
Honestly to get out on a ride at all is a joy on a Sunday. At my current fitness level its probably over the top of Blackdowns into Sussex for about 30-40 miles.
If you could ride a tandem with anybody who would it be?
My late Grandad because he was a brilliant man from Ireland, he was “mad as cheese”, always made me laugh and you could always guarantee some mischief when he was around.
Describe your perfect day.
That’s a difficult one – could be a number of days, I very rarely have a bad one!
Apart from riding, what makes you happy?
Spending time with family and friends, travelling and being in the sea – I used to do a lot of windsurfing.
What are you looking forward to most about working at Hiplok?
Meeting new people, building growth, there’s a whole load of opportunities to look forward to.
